Wedding Flowers / Florist

Hello, I am Heather Duncan, the Florist at Fab Weddings on a Budget. Together with my Flower Power Team (Ashley, Anne, Valerie) we love to craft wonderful and unique bouquets for brides, working with them to accomplish their vision and dreams for their most special day. Drop me a line and we'll get started right away. Flowers round up the sense of beauty and enchantment of the day. Their beauty enchants young and old, and compliments the bride's dress and the decorations. There are many ways to use flowers to decorate a wedding, but flowers are pricey, so you need to start with a budget in mind. Decide how much money you are willing to spend on flowers and then go to town within that budget.

The main drivers for flower prices are: the type of flowers and the number and types of bouquets. For example, a stem of hydrangea has a typical whole cost of $10 per stem. The second factors is how many bouquets you want. You can get away simply with a bridal boouquet and a boutoniere for the groom. Adding bridal bouquets and decorations will add to the price.

We provide here a typical shopping list and prices for several flower types. This list provides for bridal bouquet, 5 bridesmaids' bouquets, corsages for bridesmaids and 2 mothers, boutonniers for groom, 5 groomsmen, and 2 fathers, plus a few decorations. Obviously, you can choose any quantity of any type of bouquet, and each can be customized with choices of color and style. Our prices do not change for these choices, unless you want something really complicated, really large, etc. Notice the price differences among flower types, going from $587 (excluding tax and optional delivery) for Carnations to over $3,000 for Orchids. Personally I love Carnations, but some people find them too cheap... One trick to balancing a lower budget with more fancy flower types is to mix it up. For example, you could choose to spend $696 for a rose based arrangement and then specify a "bling-me-up" budget of $100 or $200 or whatever amount to use to add, say, Hydrangea highlights. This would end up costing you still under $1,000 and you'd also have some fancy flowers in the mix.

One special type of flower are silk flowers (as in artificial). All silk flowers cost about the same, regardless of flower type. In addition, they are far more resistant to really hot or cold days, and can be picked up days or weeks ahead of time, and will look good for your 1 year anniversary too :) If you will drive 3 hours to the cabin to have your wedding out there, silk flowers are perfect for "trunk storage". Just something to consider...

Q & A

1. We are interested in your service, what next?

Call or email with your budget or with your wish list and we'll quote you prices for each flower type.

2. I saw a bouquet in a magazine, can you match it?

Yes, obviously, flowers are a seasonal commodity, so assuming you are getting in the right season for that flower type and that no storms wiped out all such flowers in whatever country they are flown in from, we can craft ANY bouquet you may have seen or imagined.

3. Do you deliver?

Yes: $20 or $1 per mile, whichever is greater. Or, you can pick them up for free.

4. Can we meet for a consultation?

Of course. Just call to set up an appointment: 952-938-0778

Or online: CREATIVE FLORAL & DECORATION Consultation

Bouquets can be made in many styles, sizes and color combinations...

... they can be used by the bride and the bridesmaids (sometimes the bride getting a bigger bouquet)...

... they can match your dress colors...

... or the theme of your wedding...

... notice how to properly and gracefully hold a bouquet: your thumb should be just under your navel...

... present the bouquet with your fingers outstretched, and don't hold it as if it were a baseball bat :)

... and definitely get a good photographer...

... the following photos are older snap shots I took in past weddings, before we worked with the photographers at Fab Weddings on a Budget. Although the light is not great, you can still see a wide variety of pretty arrangements. Call me soon, my calendar fills up fast.

A note from Sarah Dahl: Rev Schaal officiated and I (Heather) took care of the flowers

Hello Heather,

The wedding was absolutely perfect! Everything went flawlessly. We couldn't have asked for a better day and everyone, *everyone* had a great time. The flowers were gorgeous and really held up well, even the ones in our hair. Some of the bouquets are still blooming at home right now!

I just wanted to thank you for the amazing job--you really know your stuff and you did exactly what I envisioned when we spoke together. Anytime you need a reference for future work, you let me know and I'll be happy to provide it. Good work like this deserves to be recognized, and any way I can help you in your future wedding career would be my pleasure.

Thanks again for the spectacular job on our bouquets and other flowers, and for being so accomodating with the pick up. It was a HUGE help to be able to pick them up in Forest Lake the day of the wedding.
