Fab Weddings on Budget: Your Wedding, Your Way!

Wedding Officiants and More in Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin (952) 938-0778

Travel to Wedding Sites

We’re happy to travel anywhere to perform your ceremony. Of course, travel takes time and gas, both of which cost money. This is our travel policy.

First off, we operate out of three cities: Minneapolis, MN, Ames, IA and Milwaukee, WI. Weddings within 100 miles of these centers are no problem and can be booked directly on the online calendar. If your wedding is farther than 100 miles from these centers, check our calendars to get an idea but do call us. If we are not busy we might be able to do it anyway - we just need to make sure we account for sufficient travel time so we can be sure to get to your wedding location plenty early. It's stressful for you if the minister is not there at least 30 minutes before the ceremony (which we always strive to be), and we'd feel pulled in too many directions if we did not allow sufficient travel time. So, if your wedding is far, call, and we'll work something out.

Travel Cost Calculation

  1. Within 20 miles of zip codes 55418 in MN, 50014 in IA and 53202 in WI there is NO COST.
  2. Anything farther than 20 miles the cost is $1 per mile from the zip codes listed above. Ex: 55418 (Minneapolis, MN) to 55303 (Ramsey, MN) the mileage is 28.4 so the cost for mileage would be $28.
  3. This amounts to $0.50 per mile driven to account for gas, wear and time. Go to http://maps.google.com, choose Directions and type in the ceremony zip code and one of our zip codes and you will get the distance in miles, which we use to calculate the travel cost.

Travel Cost Savings Tips

  1. If you want us at the rehearsal, we’ll have to travel twice. So, if you want to save some money, check out our do it yourself wedding rehearsal page.
  2. If you hire both our ministers and our photographers, they will share the ride and your travel cost will apply only once. If you hire people from two different companies chances are they will both ask for travel money. But hey, it's your money, for now anyway - and it won't be for long, if you do not pay attention to such details. The wedding industry is not known for it's efforts to help people start new lives on strong financial footings. Quite the contrary.
